| Born in Canada in 1943, Tom Northcott attended school in the U.S. then returned to Vancouver, British Columbia where he played folk music in coffee houses in the early 1960s.
In 1966, The Tom Northcott Trio performed in San Francisco. After that he had some success with solo recordings including his cover of Harry Nilsson's "Rainmaker".
In 1969, Northcott returned Vancouver and opened a recording studio where he produced bands such as Crosstown Bus and The Irish Rovers. He also bought a fishing trawler and worked as a commercial fisherman for several years.
Northcott quit the music business and began attending law school in 1973. After practising law for almost 20 years, Northcott returned to music in 1990. Visitor Comments: |
