| Tom Scott's mother was a pianist and his father was a composer. Scott played saxophone for the Don Ellis and Oliver Nelson bands then formed his own L.A. Express. He also played on hundreds of sessions for musicians including Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and George Harrison.
Scott has composed music for many films including Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, Uptown Saturday Night, Stir Crazy, Hanky Panky, The Sure Thing, Just One Of The Guys, Soul Man, and Shakes the Clown.
