| Vini Poncia was born on April 29, 1942.
In the 1960s, Poncia was in a group called Tradewinds then in The Innocence. Poncia hooked up with Phil Spector and wrote some songs for Spector's artists.
In the 1970s, Poncia teamed up with Ringo Starr, co-writing several songs with the former Beatle and playing instruments on all of Ringo's 1970s albums.
Also during the 1970s, Poncia produced recordings for Melissa Manchester.
In the late 1970s, Poncia produced the solo album by Kiss drummer Peter Criss. Poncia then produced Kiss's 1979 album Dynasty which included the group's biggest hit, "I Was Made For Loving You."
