Waldo Salt

Waldo Salt was born on October 18, 1914, in Chicago, Illinois. He died on March 7, 1987, in Los Angeles, California.

Salt was a screenwriter in the 1930s and 1940s until he was blacklisted in 1951 by the House Committee on Un-American Activities for refusing to testify. He resumed writing for films in the 1960s. His films include Midnight Cowboy, Serpico, and Coming Home. Salt won Oscars for his screenplays for Midnight Cowboy and Coming Home.
