In Spider-Man 2, director Sam Raimi paid homage to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid with a montage accompanied by B.J. Thomas's performance of "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head."
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Raimi revealed that the third film in the series, Spider-man 3 will include a similar scene - a homage to Midnight Cowboy accompanied by Harry Nilsson singing "Everybody's Talkin'". "We've finished a 50-page document and now I'm working with my storyboard artist to work out some of the visuals." Raimi told the interviewer, "[...] We've included a 'Midnight Cowboy' scene with Peter Parker in New York and 'Everybody's Talkin' at me....'"
Spider-man 3, starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, will be released to theaters on April 1, 2007.
