| Filter Magazine United States February 20, 2004 Bernardo Rondeau, in his column, encourages his readers to check out the new DVD release of The Point!.
Less greedy (though more dead) is everyone's favorite Beatle-approved piano man: Nilsson. On March 23, BMG will drop the highly (cheap stoner pun intended) anticipated DVD release of his animated feature The Point! There's a character named Leaf Man, a pot-pop masterpiece entitled "Poli High" and a THC-laced storyline. Best known through the soft-rock renderings of his deceptively snuggly gems "One" and "Everybody's Talkin'", Nilsson wrote this cartoon "family" feature about the adventures of a round-headed boy in a town where everything is pointed. Less obviously fried than H.R. Pufnstuff and not as utterly surrealistic as Dr. Seuss, The Point! debuted as a "movie of the week" with narration by Dustin Hoffman on ABC in 1971. A soundtrack album of Nilsson's score was reissued in 2002 on CD, though the original LP is a fixture of garage sales and used record bins. Also, the DVD will feature new narration from the last likeable Beatle alive (Ringo Starr of course).
