Terrible, terrible song. Even if you took out Shelley Duvall's listless, sickly-sweet vocals, one would still be left with a depressing melody that wouldn't be out of place in a 1940s-era film accompanying a scene where a heartbroken soldier is drinking himself into oblivion in a dark, smoky corner at a USO show.
