March 28, 1986 An article about Anne Murray: "In 1972, she was the girl next door, a Canadian sweetheart; by the next year, she was the star of a fiasco evening at the Troubadour Club in Hollywood, positioned in a picture next to John Lennon, Alice Cooper and Harry Nilsson. This was supposed to be proof that Murray was finally hip.
She wasn't. Or at least not in that sense. 'That evening had nothing to do with me, or rather, my music,' she recalls. 'It was more Alice Cooper's scene than mine.'"
