Ringo Starr's Home Catches Fire

The home Ringo Starr rented from Harry Nilsson in the Hollywood Hills caught fire. Much of Ringo's collection of gold records and other memorabilia was lost or damaged.

Ringo lived in the home with actress Nancy Andrews, but claimed residency in Monte Carlo to avoid England's 83% tax rate. Ringo was able to stay up to six months of each year in the US without having to pay US taxes.
