Robert Altman, Director of Popeye, Dies

Robert Altman has died. The director of MASH, Nashville, and The Player was 81.

Altman was nominated for best director Oscars five times, but never won. He did, however, receive a lifetime achievement award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Altman directed Popeye which featured a soundtrack and songs composed by Harry Nilsson.
