"There's lots of inventive compositions, and a bizarre soundtrack that features Shelley Duvall warbling Harry Nilsson's "He Needs Me" from the soundtrack of Popeye.
It's the oddest love song imaginable. And it works. It's Anderson's way of telling us that, much like T.S. Eliot's J. Alfred Prufrock, Barry Egan deserves his own love song."
